MHMR Concho Valley provides many options to best suit the needs of individuals involved in the criminal justice system with a mental health diagnosis.
MHMR Concho Valley’s TCOOMMI Program assists juveniles and adults with certain mental health needs who are currently on probation or parole in the State of Texas. TCOOMMI assists with successful integration back into a person’s community to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. MHMR Concho Valley’s TCOOMMI team partner with Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD), Parole, state agencies, and other non-profit organization to provide a variety of services.

- Peer & Family Support
The MVPN Peer Service Coordinator works with local jails to better ensure that incarcerated veterans have access to veteran-specific services and programming, offers training such as trauma-affected veterans and crisis intervention strategies, as well as assist/support veterans through the criminal justice process.
The Jail-Based Competency Restoration (JBCR) program provides competency restoration services to individuals in the criminal justice system who have been found incompetent to stand trial and require restoration services. Restoration services are provided in the Tom Green County Jail with the goal of restoring the individual’s competency to stand trial, when possible. These services may include:
- Counseling
- Skills Training
- Case Management
- Assessment/Reporting
- Education to better familiarize individuals with the legal system
JBCR is designed to address mental health concerns for inmates who often spend years waiting for a bed in a State Hospital.
This program is operated by MHMR Concho Valley funded by Texas Health and Human Services (HHS).
