The Therapy Tech II performs a variety of tasks to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve optimal levels of functioning in community life. Duties include, but not limited to: assisting individuals to enhance social, personal and daily living skills; provide training and/or support in group and/or individual settings to encourage skill development and maintenance; and, assist with assessments and program plan development and implementation. The Therapy Tech II provides all services in accordance with the HCS, TxHmL, ICF and, GR DVC rules.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Must have a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable on the Center's insurance.
Six months experience in therapeutic work preferred.
Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, as well as the ability to perform PMAB; CPR/AED; and First Aid will be required. Training is provided by the Center. Knowledge of personal assistance techniques such as: assisting with eating, bathing, and toileting. Knowledge of turning and lifting techniques is required. Skills necessary to read, understand and act upon wirtten material and verbal requests required. Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with people served and co-workers required; and, ability to communicate effectively with others.
